The Whiskyman – aka our friend Dominiek Bouckaert – launched his Isle of Jura 1988 exclusively for the Viking Lines, the Scandinavian ferry service. Hence it is hard to come by in Belgium. Unless you have connections. Which, I am fortunate to say, I do (thanks Dominiek and Koen). I am putting it H2H with the Jura 1988 from The Whisky Agency....

Isle of Jura 12 Year Old

This Isle of Jura 12 Year Old is supposed to make us forget about the 10. I wonder why the 10 was then repackaged as well, but that’s just me. Anyway, this one matured in bourbon barrels and was finished on Spanish oloroso sherry casks. The color and ABV are identical, though. The nose is more of the same as the 10 Year Old, just a tad sweeter....
