During the last week of each year Tomatin used peated malt in their production run. So this is quite exceptional and yields some 60.000 liters per year. This is later bottled as Cù Bocàn, named after the spectral hellhound that stalked the villagers of Tomatin for centuries. I do not know if this legend is still very much alive, but the Cù Bocàn...

Tomatin Cù Bòcan gets its name from the legend of a spectral dog, Cù Bòcan, who has haunted the Highland village for many years. Tale tells that the dog dissolved as smoke over the moorlands when a distillery worker tried to touch it. That's why this dram's been peated to 15 ppm. Matured in a mix of virgin oak, bourbon and sherry casks....
