Wolfburn Distillery was founded in 1821 by William Smith, taking its name from the stream it drew its water supplies from. By 1872 the distillery lay in ruins and it is thought that whisky production had ended sometime in the 1860s.
The distillery reopened in 2013 with a new building close to the original, located in Thurso, Caithness and continues to go from strength to strength under the guidance of Distillery Manager Iain Kerr.
