Second entry scotch within the 1824 Series (from the year the distillery was established), I had this one some time ago, back in Feb 2016, at a now defunct joint named La Chimenea (The Fireplace) in Madrid. They served it terribly (check the pic) in some ice-loaded gin glass, and even though I took most off the tasting might have been flawed...

A sample of this NAS cask strength Macallan (at 60.1% ABV) was part of a very generous birthday gift from @paddockjudge. The colour is one of the deepest and reddest I have ever seen in a whisky - almost like cola. On the nose we have black cherries, charred oak, Angostura bitters, buttermilk and dark cocoa. Nose: Sweet on the nose, with the ‘trademark’ Macallan dried fruit, zest and chocolate. The chocolate elemnts here are quite distinct, and it’s a lovely combination. Very surprising stuff. Palate: Very nice, full , some spice, and a lot of the chocolate and fruit going on,some zest also. Orange Milk chocolate combination, which i like so much....
