My first bottle of 'Scotland's little gem' Edradour. This one is highly rated by Ralfy. Nose Spicy with cinnamon and dried fruits. Palate More of the same on the palate, fruit cake, spices, a cereal note and a little oak. Finish Quite long and drying with dark chocolate I'm not sure what casks have been used? But I'm guessing a mix of sherry...

Edradour 1997 11 Year Old Chateau Neuf Du Pape Finish

Well I have to say I've never tried a Chateauneuf Du Pape finished whisky - whatever next? Trying neat for now.... I get toffee and plums on the nose. Caramel descending into sticky toffee pudding. Dried fruits. For 58% ABV there is surprisingly little nasal burn - normally I find it necessary to add water straight away to such high strength...

Edradour 18 Year Old 1993 Oloroso Cask Strength

I can hardly find any info about this whisky. I tried it at the pre-masterclass at a festival in Belgium under the guidance of distillery owner Andrew Symington. The distillate from 1993 was put to sleep for 18 long years on an oloroso sherry cask. One bottle short of 600 were filled. Deep sherry on the nose. Dark fruits, bothdry and juicy....
